Review draft
Terms of Service
A review-ready outline for use of the CometName website and services.
Working draft · 9 October 2026
Who provides the service
CometName is planned as a domain reseller platform. Domain registrations, renewals, transfers and some management features are fulfilled through third-party registrars, registries, payment services and other suppliers. CometName is not an independently ICANN-accredited registrar. The operating company name, address, registration number and governing law must be inserted before publication.
Accounts and acceptable use
Customers must provide accurate account and registrant details, protect account credentials, and use the service lawfully. Users may not abuse search, payment, DNS or marketplace systems, evade security controls, or submit false ownership claims. Add final account suspension and appeal procedures after counsel review.
Domain names and supplier rules
Domain availability, registration, renewal, transfers, expiry, restoration and dispute handling are governed by the applicable registry and supplier rules as well as the final customer agreement. A search result is not a reservation. Registration is confirmed only after the supplier accepts the operation and CometName verifies the resulting status.
Pricing and payment
Any price shown before launch must identify the registration term, renewal price, transfer price, taxes and material fees. A quote may expire or change before order acceptance. The production terms must explain payment authorization, order failure, refunds, chargebacks and applicable tax treatment.
Marketplace
Marketplace listings require ownership checks and moderation. Any sale, transfer, fee, settlement or payout process remains unavailable until a supported settlement provider and the required legal and operational controls are in place. No improvised escrow is offered.
Liability and changes
Insert the negotiated service commitments, limitations, consumer rights, complaint route, governing law and notice process. Do not publish a liability exclusion until local counsel has confirmed that it is valid for the intended customers.
